The Oak Park chapter of FairVote Illinois is dedicated to bringing better elections to the village of Oak Park and surrounding areas. We focus on advocacy and activism in Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, and Berwyn.

Meet your chapter lead!

Manolo Avalos is an upcoming senior at Oak Park & River Forest High School. He is an environmental activist and experienced campaign volunteer. Most recently he worked to help elect Brian Straw to the Oak Park Village Board. Since he is only 17, he can’t vote yet but finds other ways to make sure his voice is heard. Manolo supports ranked choice voting as a way to increase freedom and fairness in our elections, reduce barriers for marginalized candidates, and allow voters more choice in the process.
