Oak Park

The Oak Park chapter of FairVote Illinois is dedicated to bringing better elections to the village of Oak Park and surrounding areas, and we have been one of the most successful chapters thus far. We have secured an advisory referendum win in Berwyn as well as a binding referendum win for Oak Park, which will begin using RCV in 2027. We focus on advocacy and activism in Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Berwyn, and the west side of Chicago.

Meet your chapter lead!

Manolo Avalos is a graduate of Oak Park & River Forest High School and is currently attending Triton College. He is an environmental activist and experienced campaign volunteer. He worked to help elect Brian Straw to the Oak Park Village Board and helped to lead the RCV for Oak Park campaign. Manolo supports ranked choice voting as a way to increase freedom and fairness in our elections, reduce barriers for marginalized candidates, and allow voters more choice in the process.
