Central Chicago
Local Chapter
The Central Chicago chapter of FairVote Illinois is dedicated to bringing better elections to the city of Chicago. We focus on advocacy and activism in the Central neighborhoods, including: Old Town, The Loop, South Loop, Streeterville, West Loop, Gold Coast, Goose Island, and Fulton River District.
Meet your chapter lead!
Abigail Nichols is a retired federal food policy analyst who moved to Chicago on a whim four years ago because of neighborhood noise in DC. A whim has become devotion; Abigail and her husband, Carl, love Chicago! She has loved ranked choice voting since she co-authored a study for the Washington DC League of Women Voters more than 10 years ago. She also ran for the Illinois State legislature in 2022. “Sure, Chicago has problems, but now I can sleep. Sleep gives me energy to work on problems while enjoying the glory of a city with an amazing past and future.”
